Finishings

Finishings are steps that are performed after printing, but before attaching the thread to the tags. They can involve things that make labels more attractive, functional, and durable.

Some common finishings include things like rounding corners, which can make labels more attractive and easier to handle. Die-cutting gives labels a unique shape and increases brand awareness. Perforation makes labels easier to remove or tear apart. Creasing or folding makes labels more compact and durable. Saddle stitching makes labels more capable of containing more information. Surface treatments protect labels from wear and tear and improve their appearance.

Corner rounding

A hangtag doesn’t have to be rectangular but can have rounded corners or be die-cut. Corner rounding makes the label hang more elegantly on the product. You can freely decide how many of the corners to round, whether it’s just one corner or all four that you desire.

We have special corner rounding machines for these operations. With beveled corners, the corners are cut away at a 45-degree angle. The depth to which the corner is cut can be adjusted as needed.

With rounded corners, the corners are cut off in a curvature of up to approx. 10 mm into the corner but adjustable for less.

Die-cutting

Die-cut tags are a popular option for businesses that want their products to stand out. Die-cutting allows hangtags to have a unique shape, which can increase brand awareness and make products more attractive to customers.

Die-cutting is an additional cost that depends on several factors, including the tag’s size, shape, and quantity.

Perforation

Perforation is an effective way to divide hangtags into two parts. This is a common technique used on key tags, luggage tags and other products where you want a receipt part.

Perforation is often used in conjunction with variable printing so that the unique receipt part can be matched with its tag after they have been separated. This allows for more efficient tracking of products or customers.

Folding

Folding is a technique used to create a fold line in a material. This can be done to create a more compact product, enhance durability, or make the product more attractive.

There are many different types of folding, including single folding, saddle stitching, and roll folding. Our folding machine is specially equipped with an inserter that can handle extra-small formats, allowing us to produce folding of tags in a wide range of sizes.

Toner foiling

Lamination

& Coating

Lamination and coating are two techniques used to protect and enhance hangtags. Lamination involves adhering a thin layer of plastic film over the paper, while coating covers the paper with a layer of UV coating.

Lamination and coating are crucial for safeguarding tags against wear, water, and other external factors. They can also be used to make hangtags more water-resistant, durable, and attractive.

Laminate and coating are available in both matte and glossy finishes. Matte tags are subtle and elegant, while glossy tags are more prominent and shiny.
